Jason W. Bank is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC and leads the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring practice.  He specializes in the areas of commercial bankruptcy law, out-of-court workouts, corporate restructurings and creditor’s rights.  Mr. Bank also represents several small to middle market businesses and business owners and advises them on a variety of legal issues. 

Mr. Bank represents debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, receivers and a wide variety of creditors in bankruptcy and other judicial proceedings, out-of-court restructurings and loan workouts.  He has successfully guided numerous businesses in a wide range of industries through the Chapter 11 reorganization and restructuring process from beginning to end.  Mr. Bank has considerable experience in representing parties buying and selling assets of businesses out of bankruptcy as well as prosecuting and defending preferential transfer and fraudulent conveyance actions.  He lectures and publishes frequently on the subjects of bankruptcy and restructuring, including Chapter 9 bankruptcy and debt and contract restructuring for municipalities.
 
Mr. Bank is an adjunct professor at the Michigan State University College of Law on the subject of Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.  He also lectures and publishes frequently for various professional and trade associations on the subjects of bankruptcy and reorganization.  Mr. Bank has been recognized as a “Michigan Super Lawyer” and was named a Top Lawyer for 2012 by DBusiness Magazine in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights.  He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association, Federal Bar Association, and the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Mr. Bank is a graduate of the Wayne State University Law School and he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications from the University of Michigan.
