Monte D. Jahnke is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. From the inception of his practice in 1974 Monte has specialized in the formation and regulation of insurance entities. He led the firm’s entry into the captive insurance sector in the 1980’s. His practice emphasizes corporate, domestic, multi-state and off shore insurance matters, as well as the merger, acquisition, dilution and consolidation of insurance companies and their affiliates. He routinely serves as developmental and on shore counsel for regional and national alternative risk, single parent and group captive programs. Beyond a wide array of industry and commercial captives, Monte has significant experience servicing physician, hospital and managed care interests and their risk management needs. Monte frequently writes for industry journals and lectures at national and international insurance and captive industry meetings. He has served as national and state level chair of bar and legal association sections and committees, and has been consulted by government and industry groups on and off shore regarding insurance and alternative risk policy and industry matters. Monte is a longstanding designee in the publications Who’s Who in American Law and The Best Lawyers in America, as well as other honorary listings. Monte holds an undergraduate degree from Wayne State University where he was appointed to the honorary Omicron Delta Kappa fraternal organization. Following naval service during the Vietnam War, he received his law degree from the Wayne State University Law School where his honors included appointment to the school’s National Moot Court Team as an oralist, and receipt of the Marx Scholarship. |
