Ricardo J. Lara, Jr.

Ricardo J. Lara, Jr., is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC.  Mr. Lara practices in the areas of commercial litigation and business law.  He has been actively involved in a variety of civil litigation and ADR matters, including commercial contract disputes, environmental disputes, employment disputes, insurance coverage and sales representative commissions disputes, and shareholder disputes.  Mr. Lara has extensive experience in managing discovery in complex litigation matters, including e-discovery and preservation issues.  Mr. Lara has advised automotive manufacturers, suppliers, banks, law firms, condominium and homeowners associations and high-technology businesses on a variety of matters.

Mr. Lara also has extensive experience in procuring tax incentives and credits for clients seeking to expand or relocate their businesses in Michigan.  He has participated in the successful negotiation of millions of dollars of incentives for brownfield redevelopment, job creation and retention, site expansion, machinery and equipment investments and infrastructure improvements.

Mr. Lara is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Mr. Lara is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.  Mr. Lara attended both the University of Michigan and Oakland University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He is a member of the Michigan Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
