Eric I. Lark is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Mr. Lark is a member of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group and specializes in the areas of business law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities law, real estate law, and the formation and representation of alternative risk transfer entities, including captive insurance companies. His clients include public and private companies in the manufacturing, technology, services, construction, real estate, finance, private equity, healthcare and insurance industries. Mr. Lark serves as counsel for a number of businesses, performing an array of services including business formations, mergers, buying and selling businesses, joint ventures, public and private offerings and other securities matters, financing transactions, contracts, real estate matters and alternative forms of insurance, both onshore and offshore.  Mr. lark also represents professional athletes and recording artists.

Mr. Lark is past Chairman of the 4000-member Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, as well as a former Council Member and the current Director of Legislative Review and Director of Programs for the Section. Mr. Lark has previously served as Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary of the Business Law Section, and as Program Director for several years. He also serves on the Section’s Michigan Business Corporation Act Revision Subcommittee. He is a member of Michigan’s Business Law and Real Property Law Sections.

Mr. Lark is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois, as well as the District of Columbia, and is a member of the American Bar Association and its Business Law Section, a member of the Detroit Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Lark is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is also a member of the Cayman Islands Captive Managers  Association  and a  member  of the Southeast Michigan  Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He additionally serves on several committees within the firm. 

Mr. Lark has published several articles and frequently lectures locally, nationally and internationally on a variety of business, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and captive insurance topics. Among Mr. Lark’s outside activities, since 2002 he has been the President and Board Chairman of his subdivision’s Homeowner’s Association. He is also an officer of one of the nation’s leading restaurants. 

Mr. Lark is a graduate of the Wayne State University Law School, where he was on the Moot Court Board of Directors. He received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Finance), with distinction, from the University of Michigan.
