John D. Gatti is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC and is Chairperson
of the Firm’s Taxation Practice Group. Mr. Gatti specializes in the areas of
taxation, mergers and acquisitions, business law, real estate law, and
estate planning. Mr. Gatti regularly advises clients in a variety of areas
including mergers and acquisitions, business formations, succession
planning, real estate, joint ventures and general corporate matters.
Mr. Gatti has extensive experience involving a variety of federal, state and
multi-state income and franchise tax issues relating to corporate and
partnership acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings. Mr. Gatti has
advised on a wide range of areas including Subchapters C, K and S,
consolidated returns and income tax accounting. Prior to joining the firm in
2005, Mr. Gatti was with a nationally recognized accounting firm
specializing in the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions as well as
providing tax advice to clients in various industries including the
automotive, transportation, publishing, communications and health care
segments.
Mr. Gatti is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar
Association, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and various sections of these
associations.
Mr. Gatti is a 1991 cum laude graduate of Wayne State University (Order of
the Coif) and a 1988 graduate of the University of Michigan where he
received his degree in Economics with High Honors.
